4-H Youth Development

4-H Youth Development

"The mission of 4-H is to assist youth, and adults working with those youth, to gain additional knowledge, life skills, and attitudes that will further their development as self-directing, contributing, and productive members of society."

The 4-H Youth Development Program in American Samoa exists to help guide and empower youth through fun, engaging, and cultural programs. 4-H believes in the power of young people and in order to improve communities as well as the whole nation, it has to start with the younger generation. Every child has a valuable strength to make a difference thus improving everything including the lives they come across. 4-H influences all children and youth from all beliefs and backgrounds by providing them with hands-on experience that will help them develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will allow them to be better citizens. The program focuses on creating positive experiential learning experiences for youth; promoting and helping create positive relationships between youth and adults; creating and supporting positive, inclusive, and safe learning environments; and providing youth with opportunities to experience positive risk-taking challenges and growth.
