Urban and Community Forestry
Urban and Community Forestry
The Urban and Community Forestry Program focuses on the protection, conservation, and restoration of forests and natural resources in urban areas such as communal and government-owned lands such as public parks. Various forestry efforts, such as native and coastal tree planting, coastal stabilization, outreach education, and tree surveys, are implemented through the program. This program engages the islands' communities, such as village and church youth groups, to participate and take action in urban forest and natural resources management efforts.
