Livestock Services
Livestock Services
The Agriculture Extension Program (AEP) provides livestock services to the community through the ACNR Piggery. The ACNR Piggery is an AS-EPA-approved piggery system that serves as a demonstration site for clients, students, and other community members to learn about pig breeding practices. As part of the ACNR curriculum, agriculture students are mentored by the Animal Specialist, Extension Agents, and Technicians at the Piggery where they observe and engage in hands-on piggery management activities. Animal Services provided by the AEP include animal health management, animal husbandry, boar service, wood chipping, and pig manure compost.
